ForgeFit's social features are optional. If you use them (sharing workouts, commenting, appearing on leaderboards), these Guidelines apply. They form part of our Terms of Service.

ForgeFit has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Content that breaches these Guidelines is removed, and the accounts responsible are suspended or permanently ejected. We action reports as quickly as possible, and generally within 72 hours.

The principle

This is a training app. People post their work, including sessions they are not proud of, weights that are modest, and bodies at every stage of change. The bar is simple: if it would make someone less likely to log their next session, it does not belong here.

What is not allowed

Harassment and abuse

  • Targeted insults, mockery, or pile-ons directed at another user.
  • Body-shaming, including comments on someone's weight, size, or appearance.
  • Ridiculing someone's numbers, technique, or progress.
  • Threats of violence, intimidation, or stalking.
  • Repeatedly contacting someone who has blocked you, or evading a block with a new account.

Hate speech and discrimination

  • Content that attacks, demeans or dehumanises people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
  • Slurs, hate symbols, or support for hateful organisations.

Sexual and graphic content

  • Sexually explicit or pornographic content.
  • Unsolicited sexual comments about another user or their photos.
  • Gratuitously violent or gory content.
  • Any sexual content involving minors is reported to the relevant authorities and results in immediate, permanent termination.

Privacy and impersonation

  • Posting another person's private information: address, phone number, workplace, or images of them without consent.
  • Impersonating another person, a coach, a brand, or ForgeFit staff.
  • Screenshotting and reposting another user's content to mock them.

Spam and manipulation

  • Commercial solicitation, coaching sales, or supplement promotion.
  • Links to external sites for the purpose of promotion.
  • Fabricated lifts or manipulated data to place on leaderboards.
  • Bulk or automated posting, or operating multiple accounts to inflate engagement.

Illegal activity

  • Content promoting or facilitating illegal activity.
  • Sale or sourcing of prescription drugs or controlled substances.
  • Content that infringes copyright or trademark.

Health, bodies and substances

Training communities have a specific set of failure modes. These are treated as seriously as any other breach:

  • No promotion of disordered eating. That includes glorifying extreme restriction, purging, "what I eat in a day" content at dangerous calorie levels, or framing an eating disorder as discipline.
  • No promotion of self-harm in any form, including training through injury framed as toughness.
  • No sourcing, dosing advice, or promotion of anabolic steroids or other performance-enhancing drugs. Discussing your own history factually is not a breach; telling someone what to take, or where to get it, is.
  • No presenting yourself as a medical professional or giving medical advice you are not qualified to give.

If you are struggling with an eating disorder or thoughts of self-harm, please contact a professional service in your country. In Australia, the Butterfly Foundation (1800 33 4673) and Lifeline (13 11 14) can help.

How to report

You can report any content or user, and you do not need to interact with them to do it.

  • In the app: use the report control on any workout post, comment, or user profile. Choose a reason and add detail if you want to.
  • By email: safety@forgefit.fitness, including the username involved and a screenshot if you have one.

Reports are confidential. We do not tell the reported user who reported them. Deliberately abusing the report system to harass someone is itself a breach of these Guidelines.

What happens next

Every report is reviewed and actioned as quickly as possible, and generally within 72 hours. Depending on severity, we will do one or more of the following:

SeverityAction
Minor first breach Content removed, warning issued to the user
Repeated breaches Content removed, social features suspended for a period
Serious breach Immediate permanent termination of the account
Illegal content Immediate removal, permanent termination, and referral to law enforcement

We may remove content and suspend accounts without prior notice where the content is clearly unlawful or presents a risk of harm. Users who are permanently ejected may not create new accounts.

Blocking and controlling your feed

You do not have to wait for us to act. At any time you can:

  • Block a user from their profile. They can no longer send you friend requests, see your activity, or interact with your workouts.
  • Hide any individual workout so it never appears in a feed.
  • Change your visibility in Settings → Privacy & Social, including keeping everything private.
  • Leave social entirely. Social features are opt-in and can be switched off without affecting your training log.

Your progress photos, body measurements, Apple Health data and Ember conversations are never visible to other users under any setting.

Appeals

If your content was removed or your account was actioned and you believe we got it wrong, email safety@forgefit.fitness with your username and what happened. We will review it and reply. We do not reinstate accounts terminated for illegal content or content involving minors.
